Player Registration Procedures

    RETURNING PLAYERS

  1. The player must first be inputted in the Goan Soccer League’s Database.
  2. If the player has played before in any Soccer league in Ontario, then submit the duly completed OSA/TSA Player Registration form with the player's ID Book.
  3. If the photograph on the Player Book is more than five (5) years old, then a new photograph taken in the past two (2) years must be submitted with the registration form.
  4. If the player is returning, who was previously registered with the Goan Soccer League, the team must list all the returning players on the form provided by the league.
  5. The top part of the book must be duly completed with the name of the 3. team and the season.

    6. NEW PLAYERS

  6. Make sure the player has a common Goan last name. If the name is unusual, probably the player's mother might have been married to a person with an uncommon Goan last name. In that case, we need a copy of the marriage certificate showing the maiden name of the mother and a copy of the birth certificate of the player showing his mother's name on it.
  7. The player with the uncommon Goan last name might have been married to a Goan, in which case we need a copy of the player's marriage certificate.
  8. If the player has never played in the league before ( i.e. a new player), a Goan Soccer League's Players Registration Form and the OSA/ TSA Player Registration Form must be duly completed and submitted with two photographs, (not more than two years old) passport size.
  9. Proof of age (either driver's license, Passport copy or any document showing the date of birth) must be submitted with the registration form.

    10. GENERAL INFORMATION

  10. Prior to all this, the player must first be inputted in the Goan Soccer League’s Database.
  11. If the player is sixteen (16) or Seventeen (17) years of age, then a Goan Soccer League's Parental Consent Form must be duly completed and signed by any parent of the player. Parental Consent Form is not required if the player will turn 18 years of age anytime during the season (May to Dec).
  12. All the forms must be submitted to the league at the field on Sunday by the last game.
  13. The Player's ID books can be picked up from the league by the following Wednesday before 2100 hours (9:00 P.M.).
  14. The Player's ID books must be picked up from the league or will be given at the next game, then taken to the TSA office to get the player registration completed and the Player Book stamped. Only then the player can play in the league.
  15. The league needs at least twenty-four hours and the TSA needs forty-eight hours (after the initial registration) for the players to get registered.
  16. All the registration forms must be submitted as a complete package.
  17. If any of the above rules are not adhered to, the forms will be rejected.
  18. The Player Registration Forms must be on one page double sided.
